Project Coordinator Illiquid Assets - New York, NY

Full Time Permanent - Downtown NYC

WJT is seeking a Project Coordinator for our client firm who specializes in illiquid asset market making (restricted stock, alternative investments, auction rate securities).

Position will focus on guiding and measuring projects directly related to the development and maintenance of the team's infrastructure facilities, data, workflows and operational processes.

The Project Coordinator will assume oversight responsibilities of the project management of all infrastructure-related Production team initiatives including workflow analysis, productivity tool selection and implementation, BPM projects, and Technology-related projects.

Essential Accountability
Assume ownership of and enhance process design and execution of all Production team Change Management requests, developments and launch events.

Serve as a liaison between Production subject matter experts and technology project managers, business systems analysts and developers by coordinating accurate and efficient communications between all parties.

Represent the needs and goals of the Production team by interfacing with IT project managers for all IT work requested by Production. Maintain a constant monitor on budget, scope, quality, scheduling and resource issues within each project.

Serves as a business analyst / business systems analyst to assist in the evaluation of technology and infrastructure project designs while translating technology concepts for business team understanding.

Develop periodic high quality senior management-level reporting information which quantifies our infrastructure project execution efficiency and resultant benefits.

Coordinate and establish the prioritization of all Production infrastructure-related projects.

Participate in the RFP, resource selection and project execution when infrastructure work is outsourced.

Project manage the development of internal and client-facing web-based information portals.

Problem-solving and decision-making challenges include:
Organizational - candidate needs to manage within our structure and minimize operational risk through intense oversight of all facets of infrastructure project management

Interpersonal - candidate needs to manage the expectations of multiple parties including managers in sales, product management, operations and IT.


Bachelors Degree. Technology-related / operational science degrees strongly preferred. Masters degrees a strong plus.

3+ years' experience in Financial Services, with detailed experience in 2 or more of the following roles:

o IT Project Manager
o Business Analyst / business systems analyst
o Process Engineering Manager
o Technical Quality Assurance Manager
o Technology budgeting Analyst
o Off-shore / outsourced IT development Consultant / Coordinator

Strong verbal and written communications skill

Strong presentation, organizational and leadership skills

3+ years of responsibility for developing/assessing technical solutions as applied to solving business problems.

Comfortable interfacing between IT and Production / Operations groups

Basic knowledge of equity markets and indices required; fixed income market or commodity markets knowledge a plus

Familiarity with web development, java, SQL, Oracle all a plus
